Officially Licensed USMC VMO-4 Squadron Patch — Marine Observation Squadron 4 Embroidered Patch

VMO-4 — Reserve Marine observation aviation.

VMO-4 was a Marine Corps Reserve observation squadron that maintained trained and ready observation and forward air control capabilities in the Reserve force. Marine observation squadrons provided the critical link between ground forces and aviation, directing artillery fire and close air support strikes from low-flying aircraft. VMO-4 ensured the Marine Corps had observation capability depth beyond the active duty force.
