Because of the form and yellow colouring of its flowers, Diervilla sessilifolia is also known as bush honeysuckle but it doesn’t share its namesake’s climbing habit. This hardy deciduous shrub comes from the south east USA, where it thrives in woodland, forming dense thickets.
