This prolific crab apple makes a very pretty small tree, smothered in pink-tinged white flowers in spring and laden with clusters of golden-yellow fruits in autumn that stay on the tree well into winter, if not harvested for delicious crab apple jelly! Bees love the flowers, and crab apples make excellent pollination partners for other apple trees. Malus ‘Golden Hornet’ has a broad, spreading crown and looks gorgeous as a specimen tree.
