Chive ‘Garlic’, also known as Allium tuberosum, is a versatile and easy to grow perennial herb valued for its gentle garlic flavour and attractive appearance. The flat, grass-like leaves are softer than traditional garlic and chives, making them perfect for adding subtle savoury notes to salads, stir fries, omelettes and soups.
In late summer, plants produce clusters of delicate white, star shaped flowers that are both ornamental and edible, attracting bees and other pollinators to the garden. Garlic chives grow well in sunny or lightly shaded positions with well drained soil and require minimal maintenance.
