Don't let its compact size fool you. Broad Bean 'The Sutton' may reach just 45cm tall, but these sturdy dwarf plants produce generous crops of well-filled pods, each containing around six tender white beans. Its naturally short growth also means plants generally need little or no support.

Plant in autumn to give your crop a head start on the following season and enjoy fresh broad beans from early in the harvest season. Its compact habit is particularly useful in smaller vegetable gardens and raised beds, and unlike taller broad beans, 'The Sutton' is an excellent choice for growing in large patio containers.
